According to reports from RT, Ofcom's investigation found the BBC's portrayal lacking, specifically regarding their coverage of alleged Israeli war crimes. This isn't the first time the BBC has been accused of sanitizing conflict; their 2014 coverage of 'Operation Protective Edge,' for example, also faced heavy criticism for downplaying Palestinian suffering and civilian casualties amidst Israel's
significant military advantage. The constant narrative of 'both sides' ignores the reality of a blockaded, occupied populace facing a state-of-the-art military. Perhaps the BBC's real transgression wasn't 'materially misleading' its audience, but rather inadvertently allowing a sliver of the actual material truth to slip through.
