Meanwhile, the UK government, which continues to supply military aid and political cover for actions leading to this crisis, faces zero irreversible harm from their policies. Defense Export Control Organization (DECO) data
shows the UK approved over £470 million in arms exports to Israel between 2015 and 2022, including bombs, missiles, and components of military aircraft. This continued support, often rubber-stamped without public scrutiny, directly implicates British officials in the very atrocities these activists are literally dying to oppose. One might wonder if any of these decision-makers lose sleep, or
indeed, suffer any 'irreversible harm' to their careers or consciences, from enabling the conditions that force others to such desperate measures. Or perhaps, for those in power, the 'irreversible harm' is simply a distant headline, much like the irreversible harm befalling those in Gaza.
