While the prospect of defending 'national interests' mobilizes old soldiers, the clamor to halt a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza seems to muster only rhetorical hand-wringing. One might wonder where this sudden urgency to bolster military ranks was when international bodies were
pleading for an end to the destruction of Gaza—a disaster partially enabled by these very arms exports.
