U.S. Tax Dollars Fund Gaza's Next Landmine Field
As Gaza attempts to clear its bombed-out cities, children are finding unexploded ordnance alongside the remains of their families. While Israel restricts heavy machinery and basic aid into the strip, it seems to have no trouble ensuring a continuous supply of U.S.-made bombs. weapons.) One might wonder if preventing recovery efforts and leaving behind deadly explosive remnants is some sort of perverse long-term 'deterrent.' Our own lawmakers, who just approved another $14 billion in aid to Israel in April 2024 (HR 8034), appear quite comfortable with the concept of their constituents' tax dollars providing the tools for this particular brand of 'development aid.'
