They, of course, neglect to mention the extensive U.S. sanctions policy that has crippled Venezuela's economy, contributing to widespread poverty and food shortages for its citizens. While the article celebrates U.S. might, it conveniently forgets that these actions directly harm everyday Venezuelans.
This 'might makes right' narrative isn't new. It’s the same old tune sung by pundits who never have to live with the consequences of state-sanctioned starvation. According to a 2019 report by the Center for Economic and Policy Research, U.S. sanctions imposed since 2017 contributed to 40,000 deaths in Venezuela. But let's hear it for seizing that oil!
