U.S. Finds $5.2 Billion for Baltimore, How About Gaza?
Mainstream media dutifully reports the cost to fix a broken bridge, highlighting President Biden's promise to cover it. Meanwhile, the cost of rebuilding Gaza, systematically destroyed by bombs purchased with U.S. taxpayer dollars, is estimated by the UN at over $30 billion, with critical infrastructure rubble. Where is the presidential promise for that? One might almost wonder about the
priorities. We can find billions for a bridge, which is indeed important, but for the millions displaced and infrastructure pulverized in Gaza – with US weapons, no less – the tune changes to 'complex humanitarian crisis.' Perhaps if a cargo ship hit Gaza, we'd see a similar outpouring of federal funds. How many bridges could $5.2 billion rebuild in Gaza compared to one in Baltimore?
