U.S. Considers Leaflets for Venezuela, Forgets 60 Years of Failed Coups
CBS News dutifully reported on the Pentagon's brilliant new strategy: paper messages instead of bombs. This 'innovative' approach to 'pressure' Maduro curiously ignores over 60 years of U.S. regime change attempts in Latin America, from Chile to Cuba, all routinely justified by concerns over 'democracy' and 'human rights.' These efforts, often involving the CIA, rarely resulted in anything but
instability and deeper anti-American sentiment. One might wonder if the architects of this leaflet campaign have ever opened a history book, or perhaps just a copy of 'Coup Plotting for Dummies.' Given the track record, perhaps the leaflets should simply state: 'Your government's natural resources are now available for foreign exploitation. Resistance is futile.'
