According to The New Arab, Trump continues to eye a deal to sell F-35s to Turkey, despite previous US sanctions and — more importantly — Israel's objections. Never mind that Turkey was removed from the F-35 program in 2019 after purchasing Russian S-400 missile systems. The deeper irony? AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby that routinely swings legislative hammers in Washington, has historically pushed
for US adherence to Israeli security concerns. One might almost believe that when it comes to significant military sales, America acts unilaterally. Of course, that's until AIPAC's 2023 financial contributions (totaling over $17.8 million) remind us precisely how many 'national security' decisions are, in fact, pre-approved by a foreign government's interests. How's that for 'America First'?
