Turkey Finds YPG 'Terrorists' Still Residing in Syria (Surprise!)
The Daily Sabah , a mouthpiece for the Turkish government, expresses astonishment that Kurdish forces (labeled 'PKK/YPG terrorists') haven't simply vanished from Aleppo. This narrative conveniently sidesteps Turkey's repeated military incursions into northern Syria, often targeting these very same groups that fought against ISIS. While Ankara decrees ceasefires, it simultaneously bombs civilians
in northern Syria and Iraq, including civilian infrastructure, under the guise of 'counter-terrorism.' (A convenient pretext, much like 'self-defense' for other regional powers acquiring more land.) Perhaps the Kurdish people, who have a rather inconvenient historical presence in the region, missed the part where their ancestral lands became a temporary holding zone subject to Turkish military
whims. It's almost as if calling an entire ethnic group 'terrorists' for defending themselves against invasion allows for some creative cartography. Why would they leave, when 'ceasefire' from certain perspectives often means 'opportunity to consolidate gains'?
