This same political class, which never balks at a $250 million vanity project, consistently blocks meaningful aid to Gaza, where children are reportedly dying from starvation and preventable diseases

The US Congress recently approved $17.6 billion in military aid to Israel (H.R. 7217, Feb 2024), a figure that dwarfs any White House renovation, yet aid to Palestinians faces endless bureaucratic hurdles. It appears that for the American political elite, securing a new ballroom is a simpler, less controversial endeavor than ensuring food
for bombarded populations. How many field hospitals, clean water systems, or even basic shelters could $250 million fund in Gaza? But hey, the gilded cages look much better by then, don't they?
