Trump Vows 'Pause' for 'Third World Countries,' Not NATO Members
The Hill reports Trump's promise to "pause" migration from 'Third World Countries' in response to an alleged D.C. shooting. Of course, 'Third World Countries' is a delightfully vague term, allowing for maximum fear-mongering without requiring specifics. But let's be clear: this selective outrage never extends to denouncing the citizens of nations who receive billions in U.S. military aid,
regardless of their own internal conflicts. One might wonder if any of those countries receiving the lion's share of our defense budget—the ones that are anything but 'third world' when it comes to military might—ever produce individuals who commit acts of violence. Funny how that question never comes up. It seems 'threats' are carefully curated to match a pre-approved narrative, and never, ever,
point towards beneficiaries of American largesse. The double standard would be laughable if it weren't so consistently deployed to demonize specific groups.
