While the US already pours hundreds of billions annually into its military, critics might question the timing of such an announcement given domestic challenges and the actual cost-effectiveness of vanity projects. reality show for the taxpayer.) Instead of dissecting the performative absurdity, the BBC frames it as a genuine plan to 'revive American shipbuilding,' echoing the very propaganda it should deconstruct. One might wonder if the same energy (and taxpayer dollars) could, say, fix infrastructure or provide healthcare. But why bother when there are battleships named 'USS Trump' to commission?
