Trump Tried Deporting Syrians While Arming Their Oppressors
The story celebrates a judge’s intervention preventing the deportation of Syrians granted TPS by the Trump administration. What they often omit is the role US foreign policy played in creating the very conditions that necessitated TPS in the first place. For example, the CIA's extensive, covert program to arm Syrian rebels, starting around 2013 and winding down in 2017, poured fuel on a civil war

So, we applaud a judge for stopping the expulsion of refugees from a country destabilized, in part, by interventions driven by think tanks and politicians funded by entities pushing for regime change. It's a cyclical absurdity: fund the conflict, then grudgingly offer temporary shelter
to those fleeing it. How many 'humanitarian crises' would never materialize without the 'help' of foreign policy?
