It’s an exercise in geopolitical gaslighting: point to the symptom, ignore the disease. While the US system recovers , perhaps from its own interventionist foreign policies, proxy wars,
and economic sanctions that have for decades destabilized vast swaths of the globe, the 'Third World' can simply... wait. A look at the 'Third World' countries most impacted by US foreign policy, from Latin America to the Middle East, reveals a direct correlation between destabilization and migration waves. Odd how 'recovery' never includes a pause on weapons sales or regime change operations. How
many 'permanent pauses' will it take before the architects of global instability are asked to pause their own operations? One might imagine a 'developed' world that funds coups and props up dictators, then expresses shock when the resulting refugees don't stay neatly within their shattered borders. "Permanently pause migration" is a novel way to say "let them eat cake, but don't let them near our
