The focus seems less on safety and more on demonizing specific, often Muslim-majority, nations while conveniently overlooking others. One might wonder how some nations are deemed existential threats while others, despite historical ties to actual terror financing (according to the 9/11 commission itself), remain firm US allies.
It’s almost as if the 'threat' isn't about the country itself, but rather its current relationship—or lack thereof—with certain strategic priorities in Washington. Conveniently, you rarely hear calls to restrict travel from countries that purchase billions in US arms or pour money into DC think tanks.
