Trump Starves Americans, Funds Israel (Still)
According to Axios, Donald Trump declared that SNAP benefits, relied on by 42 million Americans (mostly children and seniors), would only be disbursed *after* a government shutdown ends, explicitly defying federal court orders. Never mind the humanitarian crisis for vulnerable Americans, because when it comes to prioritizing spending, certain defense budgets always seem to find their way through,
even when the government shutters. During previous shutdowns, military aid to foreign nations, particularly Israel, faced no such interruptions. While American families face the prospect of hunger, the same politicians who squabble over domestic spending consistently greenlight billions in military assistance elsewhere. One might wonder why starving children at home is an acceptable pawn in a
political game, but the steady flow of advanced weaponry to foreign allies remains inviolable. Apparently, some fiscal responsibilities are more 'critical anti-poverty programs' than others.
