The article neglects to mention previous 'peace boards' convened by the US leadership, which often appear more like clean-up committees after the fact. One might recall similar
proposals after past Israeli offensives, each leading to grand pronouncements and precisely zero lasting peace. Are we to believe this latest 'Board' will finally usher in an era of tranquility after, not before, the displacement and destruction (again)? Perhaps the 'Board of Peace' is just Washington's polite way of saying, "We just need someone to manage the rubble." With Trump's previous 'deal
of the century' being less a peace plan and more a land grab for Israel, one wonders if this new 'Board' will discuss how many international aid convoys are allowed to enter the 'peaceful' demolition site. As for the US 'pushing ahead' with a peace plan, it seems remarkably coherent with their consistent push for war and then, belatedly, a 'peace' that benefits everyone but Palestinians.
