Trump Needs Funding for Air Traffic Controllers, Finds Trillions for Tax Cuts
Mainstream media reports Trump is baffled on how to finance a $10,000 bonus he promised air traffic controllers for working through a shutdown. He told Fox: “I always get the money from someplace regardless, it doesn’t matter.” This from the same administration that reportedly added over $8 trillion to the national debt in four years, largely through tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy,
according to a 2021 Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget analysis. It appears finding funds for the working class is a considerably more complex economic problem than, say, showering billionaires with tax breaks or pushing for defense spending increases while domestic programs are gutted. One might wonder if the 'money from someplace' only materializes for the top 1% or for defense
contractors, but somehow vanishes when it's time to compensate those who keep air travel safe for all Americans.
