This, of course, comes from the same political figure who oversaw the 'Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017,' a legislative masterpiece estimated by the Congressional Budget Office to add $1.9 trillion to the national debt , overwhelmingly benefiting corporations and the wealthiest
Americans. (Perhaps those subsidies are less 'burdensome' on the ledger sheets.) One might observe that subsidies for the most vulnerable are always on the chopping block, yet corporate welfare—and the continuous funding of endless wars abroad—are rarely, if ever, up for debate.
