While this revelation is framed as shocking, one might ask: disturbing to whom? The U.S. continued record arms sales to Saudi Arabia, including a $60 billion package approved under Obama, then expedited under Trump, and only
partially paused by Biden. The 'disturbance' seems confined to the emotional state of a lawmaker, not the flow of advanced weaponry. This echoes the post-9/11 'concern' about Saudi ties, quickly overshadowed by 'shared interests' and oil contracts. So, a lawmaker found the call 'disturbing.' How many body parts need to be dismembered and dissolved before Washington finds the arms deals equally so?
