Trump Finds Peace in Gaza, Americans Find More Inflation
According to the AP-NORC poll, conducted October 9-13, 2025 (yes, really, they're polling a future event), Trump's 'ceasefire deal' somehow moved the needle on his foreign policy ratings. The AP conveniently ignores the fact that "ceasefire season" in Gaza is a perennial event, often followed by re-escalation, as documented by Human Rights Watch through various conflicts in 2008, 2012, 2014, and
2021. As Alabama Republican Justin Sanders points out in the article, Americans are apparently more concerned with putting food on the table than with photo-op peacemaking. Perhaps the AP could poll voters on why their wages aren't keeping up, or why healthcare costs are still crippling, instead of hyping an unconfirmed future event by a potential candidate. It seems 'peace' is a fantastic
headline, especially when it diverts attention from the enduring domestic issues where politicians consistently fail.
