What’s conspicuously absent from the mainstream narrative is the inconvenient truth that the U.S. has been tirelessly arming one side of this conflict for decades. Since 1948, the United States has provided Israel with more than $160 billion in
military assistance, making it the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign aid, according to USAID data. Netanyahu’s 'disarm Hamas' demand conveniently overlooks the F-35s, bombs, and artillery continually flowing to his government, often without critical scrutiny. This isn't a new script. Netanyahu himself has leveraged the 'disarm Hamas' line repeatedly—in 2009, 2012, and 2014, each time
followed by escalating Israeli military campaigns and continued U.S. arms shipments.
