former president's legal filings often seem less about factual inaccuracies and more about weaponizing the judicial system against perceived critics. While Trump alleges defamation for a documentary edit, the actual public record (House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, Final Report, 2022) details his extensive efforts to pressure election
officials and incite supporters on January 6th, efforts that transcend any single media clip. It's a classic move: focus on the minor perceived slight (a 'bad edit') to deflect from the massive, documented misconduct. It’s almost as if some public figures believe that if they just sue enough media outlets, the inconvenient facts will simply disappear.
