Trump Defunded Disaster Prep, Got $0 from AIPAC

Twenty states fought the move, highlighting how critical these programs are for protecting American lives and infrastructure. Oddly, the urgency for fiscal prudence never seems to apply to the perennial fourteen-figure checks signed for foreign military aid. While American towns were

left to fend for themselves against rising seas and furious storms, the coffers for overseas military adventures remained well-funded. One might wonder if the outcome would differ if these disaster prevention programs had a powerful, well-funded Washington lobbyist group like AIPAC pushing for their continued funding, instead of, you know, just average Americans.
