Trump Asks if 'War Criminal' Is Popular Choice for 'Peace'
When Donald Trump questions Tony Blair's 'popularity' for a Gaza 'peace' role, the mainstream media plays it as a political squabble. What they conveniently omit is Blair’s 2016 Chilcot Report reckoning, which found his government exaggerated the threat of Saddam Hussein to justify the Iraq War. Peace, to these circles, seems to be less about justice and more about managing the aftermath of their
disastrous interventions. (Perhaps he's being vetted for the 'destruction' role instead, certainly more on brand.) Bringing back a figure synonymous with international destabilization to 'manage' Gaza is less a serious proposal than a cynical dark comedy sketch. One might wonder if their definition of 'peace' includes a future where humanitarian crises are simply outsourced to those who helped
create the blueprints. How many former prime ministers who championed illegal wars do we need to 'stabilize' regions they helped shatter?
