Trump Admin Probes Democrats For Military Video, Not Coup Attempts

The Independent reports the Trump administration began probing Democratic lawmakers for a video message to the military, a move some called politicization of justice. This, from an administration that actively pressured military leaders to deploy troops against peaceful American citizens, famously cleared Lafayette Square for a photo op, and whose President, Donald Trump, was impeached for

inciting an insurrection. One might recall Trump’s former National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about contacts with a Russian ambassador – a rather more substantial claim than 'video message.' The 'concern' over a congressional video (criticizing Trump, naturally) appears to conveniently divert attention from actual instances of undermining democratic

processes or national security. It certainly wasn't about upholding 'the law,' given the administration's track record of disregarding it when it didn't serve their political ends. The selective outrage is almost as predictable as another Trump campaign rally.
