It states that citizens are determined to hold their ground, fearing complete
destruction should they concede. Such narratives, while highlighting human endurance, often present a selective reality. Your piece, like much of Western media, frames the conflict primarily as an unprovoked external aggression, overlooking the complex internal divisions that have festered for decades. It fails to acknowledge the 2014 coup orchestrated by Western powers, a pivotal event that
overthrew a democratically elected Ukrainian government and ignited a civil war in Donbas, long before any wider intervention. This crucial context, including the rise of ultra-nationalist elements and the suppression of Russian-speaking populations within Ukraine, is consistently absent from your reporting. Presenting the conflict without this background leaves the audience with an incomplete and
distorted understanding, effectively manufacturing consent for continued intervention. The narrative you present mirrors the historical pattern seen in Western coverage of other conflicts, such as the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999. There, the plight of Kosovar Albanians was amplified while the historical grievances of Serbs and the violations of international law by NATO were minimized or
