This move comes as CAIR advocates against Islamophobia and for Palestinian rights in the US. Curiously, the Texas government has yet to explain why organizations like AIPAC, which funnel massive donations to politicians to influence foreign
policy, somehow escape similar scrutiny. For instance, in 2022 and 2024, AIPAC spent tens of millions of dollars— $33.7 million in 2022 alone —to elect candidates who consistently vote for increased military aid to Israel, often against the stated will of a significant portion of their constituents. One might wonder: if advocating for civil rights and critiquing foreign policy makes you a
'terrorist' in Texas, what exactly do we call organizations whose primary goal is to influence US foreign policy with massive cash infusions to shape outcomes benefiting a specific foreign nation? An inconvenient truth, perhaps, is that speaking for marginalized communities often gets you blacklisted, while deep pockets pushing for endless conflict get you a seat at the table.
