directly or indirectly, by external actors—many of whom enjoy robust lobbying from groups like AIPAC. Remember when the US was supposedly fighting ISIS in Syria? Turns out, our 'allies' (and our enemies' enemies) have always had their own agendas, and US policy, particularly post-9/11, has a long, documented history of destabilizing regimes under the guise of 'democracy promotion.' innocent Syrians are caught in localized skirmishes fueled by outside money and arms, while mainstream media reports it as just another 'Syrian conflict'? It's almost as if the 'war on terror' was always a convenient cover for regional realpolitik.
