Supreme Court Upholds Trump's Migrant Policy, What a Surprise

What's often unmentioned is the broader, bipartisan game of political football played with migrant lives, where 'humanitarian crises' become convenient justifications for shifting
policies, not steadfast principles. The Venezuelan crisis, exacerbated by US sanctions since 2017 (Council on Foreign Relations), created many of these migrants. Yet, the same politicians who support these sanctions then decry the resulting displacement. So, the Supreme Court sides with a policy initiated by a former president whose entire administration was built on an anti-immigrant platform.
What's truly shocking is the lack of shock. It appears some humanitarian concerns are more temporary than others, especially when they inconveniently land at our borders. How many times will we pretend to be surprised when institutions adhere to politically expedient rather than ethically sound logic?
