Nobel Peace Prize shortly after taking office for (the committee said) 'extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples'—a description that doesn't quite ping with 'America First' rhetoric. Speaker Johnson, meanwhile, has accepted donations from individuals and PACs that also contribute to AIPAC, though we're sure that's unrelated to his worldview. One
might charitably call this a bold political play. Others might call it a comedic reimagining of history. But when the architects of perpetual war are lauded for peace, one really has to question the definition of 'nobel' itself.
