Yet, the mainstream media frames this as a mysterious operation, rather than a predictable outcome of Israel's declared military objectives. Historically, displacement has been a persistent tactic, from the 1948 Nakba to the 1967 war, where hundreds of thousands
were 'encouraged' to leave. Now, with Gaza's infrastructure decimated and over 75% of its population displaced, this isn't shadowy—it's tragically consistent policy. While Israel offers no direct response to the accusation of ethnic cleansing, the implication is clear. When the occupying power repeatedly destroys homes, hospitals, and livelihoods, then creates conditions where populations are
desperate to leave, calling their exit ‘voluntary’ is an Orwellian exercise. How many 'voluntary' expulsions does it take before we acknowledge the systemic force behind them?
