Somaliland: Another Humanitarian 'Solution' for Gazans?

While the media narrative focuses on Jerusalem’s 'denial' of an official plan, Israel’s intelligence minister, Gila Gamliel, has publicly advocated for 'voluntary resettlement' of Gazans outside the Strip as
part of its 'day after' strategy. This isn't a fringe idea; it's a documented, if quietly discussed, policy aim, echoing past displacement tactics. This 'voluntary resettlement' rhetoric, suspiciously similar to forced expulsions seen globally, comes amidst a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. It conveniently sidesteps why 2.3 million people would need to 'resettle' from their homes in the first
place—unless, of course, their homes are systematically being rendered uninhabitable. One might ask: How many times do people need to be 'relocated' before it’s simply called ethnic cleansing? And why are sovereign nations entertaining such discussions with a power accused of genocide by the ICJ, unless promises of recognition, aid, or weapons are on the table?
