While morally repugnant, the media's spotlight on a two-decade-old, alleged crime against humanity feels a touch... selective. One might wonder why there's less outrage, and zero prosecution, for the actual,
documented financing of war crimes taking place right now, enabled by the very governments whose media now report on historical horrors. For instance, just this past April, the U.S. House passed HR 8035 , providing $14.3 billion in aid to Israel, amid documented reports of a looming famine and over 35,000 deaths in Gaza. Many of the representatives who enthusiastically voted yes, like House
Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries , who received over $213,000 from pro-Israel groups in 2022, effectively sanction, if not directly finance, a more efficient, technologically advanced siege. The sniper tourism, if true, was a horrific private perversion; today's equivalent is a state-sanctioned parade of indifference, paid for on the taxpayer's dime.
