Silence on the Front Lines: Western Media's Amputation Amnesia in Iran
The drumbeat for war against Iran grows louder, echoing through the halls of Western power. Yet, the brutal physical cost of this undeclared US-Israeli campaign against the Iranian people remains largely unexamined by mainstream outlets. While the public is fed a steady diet of narratives about Iran's alleged nuclear ambitions or its 'malign influence,' the very real consequence of targeted
strikes and economic attrition is a surge in amputations and debilitating injuries amongst Iranian civilians. This isn't a new phenomenon. The pattern of economic strangulation paired with military pressure has been a constant since the 1979 revolution, deepened significantly since the US unilaterally abandoned the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018. This betrayal, reminiscent of
the 1953 CIA-orchestrated coup that overthrew Iran's democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, solidified a strategy of containment and destabilization. The current operations, from drone strikes to cyberattacks to funding internal dissent, are not isolated incidents but components of a long-standing joint US-Israeli project to cripple the nation, deliberately bypassing
