Shooting Activists: Settler's Impunity, US 'Democracy' Aid
Al Jazeera reports an Israeli settler shot an activist in Umm al-Khair, but instead of facing consequences, he's back, apparently enjoying the thrill of harassing villagers with complete impunity. This, of course, isn't some rogue incident, but rather a feature, not a bug, in the system the US enthusiastically props up with $3.8 billion in annual military aid. Because what's a little light
harassment and a bullet wound between friends when you're busy upholding 'democracy' in the Middle East? Apparently, 'democracy' means one group gets advanced weaponry and unconditional cover, while the other gets shot at, then gets to watch their assailant stroll back into town. We're truly building a better world, one unpunished assault at a time.
