Senator Who Can’t Pay Taxes Will Decide Yours
West Virginia Senator Jim Justice, whose fortune dwindled from an estimated $1.9 billion to 'less than zero' according to Forbes (2021-2023), has finally agreed to settle nearly $5.2 million in personal income taxes dating back to 2009. The politician, who claims collection efforts are 'politically motivated,' somehow manages to hold a Senate seat while neglecting his federal obligations for over
a decade. One wonders if constituents delaying their own tax payments will receive such a lenient repayment plan. This is the same individual who, as reported by AP, asserts that his 'complicated and complex' companies are being run 'magnificently' by his children. So, magnificent oversight everywhere but his own tax ledger, it seems. Perhaps next, the IRS will appoint him to a committee on
national fiscal solvency. The irony is so thick you could mine coal from it.
