So the Duke of York title is back in circulation for Prince Andrew, according to Buckingham Palace. This, after the royals stripped him of his military affiliations and royal patronages back in 2022 following his legal entanglement over sexual abuse allegations connected to Jeffrey Epstein. One might have thought 'stepping back from public duties' implied, oh, actual consequences. But here we are,
2024, and his ducal title appears to be making a soft return to official use, presumably only for internal documents where pesky things like 'accountability' can be conveniently overlooked. The optics are simply stunning. While commoners face real justice, the Windsors continue to demonstrate that public outrage is merely a suggestion, not a mandate. The Epstein scandal, the sex trafficking
victims, the multi-million-pound out-of-court settlement – all just a minor bureaucratic hurdle, easily navigated when you have 'royal' appended to your name. How many common citizens would get this kind of quiet title reinstatement after being tied to such a notorious criminal? Apparently, the Crown's standard for 'good standing' is more flexible than a yoga instructor.
