Pro-Israel Legal Threats: Because Free Speech is for Zionists Only
Mainstream media will frame this as just another 'dispute' between two sides, but conveniently neglect the vast power imbalances. This 'legal threat' tactic is a classic move from groups like UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI)—who, according to their own reports, receive significant funding to 'combat delegitimization' of Israel. These are not grassroots efforts, but well-funded operations designed to
silence dissent, especially from artists. One might wonder why supporting human rights for Palestinians is so 'legally threatening' to an ethnostate, unless, of course, the truth is the actual threat. The audacity to call out film workers for supporting a besieged population, while ignoring decades of international law violations from the perpetrator, is peak hypocrisy. Clearly, some 'free speech'
is more permissible than others, especially when Israeli policy is concerned.
