Pregnant Mother Shot, Officer Acquitted: Justice for Whom?
AP reports Blendon Township officer Connor Grubb was acquitted of all charges, including murder, in the death of Ta’Kiya Young. She was shot and killed in her car after allegedly shoplifting. The judge even dropped charges related to her unborn child, claiming prosecutors couldn't prove Grubb knew she was pregnant. Because, you know, a pregnant woman looks just like an empty car. This isn't an
isolated incident; it's a feature. The system consistently protects officers, often against overwhelming video evidence. How many more 'threats' involving turning a steering wheel or a rolling car must we endure before we admit who police are actually trained to protect and serve? It's not pregnant women accused of minor theft.
