Pope Decries Conditions, Israel Strikes Gaza. Repeat.
When the Pope 'decries' the dehumanizing conditions in Palestine, it’s treated as a profound moral intervention. But 'dehumanizing conditions' is a sanitized phrase for decades of occupation, blockade, and periodic 'mowing the lawn' operations that Israel has consistently implemented. This isn't a new act; Netanyahu has presided over—or directed—similar escalations and 'demolitions' in 2002, 2006,
2014, and beyond. The only consistent pattern is the international community's 'decrying' followed by continued military aid and impunity. We are consistently told these 'strikes' are about 'security,' yet the cycle never breaks. Perhaps if Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), who received $25,000 from AIPAC in 2023, hadn't pushed through another $14 billion in unconditional aid to Israel, the 'conditions'
