Mike Pompeo, fresh off his distinguished career in diplomacy and lucrative appearances on cable news, has found his true calling: advising a Ukrainian defense company, Fire Point, that’s under a 'corruption investigation' and aims to 'boost missiles.' This is the same Pompeo who, as CIA Director, infamously bragged, 'We lied, we cheated, we stole… it reminds you of the glory of the American
experiment.' Now, his expertise in 'the American experiment' is presumably guiding a company whose 'opaque origins' and 'monopoly contracts' with the Defense Ministry are raising eyebrows, not to mention alleged links to a 'notorious associate' of Zelenskyy. audits in other transparent, corruption-free nations. Or perhaps Pompeo’s role is to ensure all future 'scrutinized' dealings look sufficiently American. After all, what better way to legitimize questionable defense contracts than with the face of American strategic 'honesty'? How many times must officials transition from public service to private profit before we acknowledge the revolving door
is, in fact, a carousel of perpetual self-enrichment?
