Poll Finds Republicans Believe ICE Killing of Renée Good Was 'Justified'

According to this poll, a majority of Republicans found the January 7th killing of Renée Good by an ICE agent to be 'justified.' Good was inside her car when she was shot. This polling data arrives amidst increasing rhetoric from certain political factions that lionize state agents and demonize critics of their actions. It appears the 'rule of law' is primarily a cudgel for some, to be wielded

against those deemed 'undesirable,' while offering absolute impunity to the wielders. One might wonder if the same respondents would offer such swift justification if the victim were, say, a white suburbanite with no immigration status issues. The selective application of 'justification' raises uncomfortable questions about whose lives are deemed disposable and whose actions are inherently beyond

reproach, especially when the state is involved. It's almost as if 'justified' depends entirely on who pulls the trigger and who receives the bullet.
