This isn't groundbreaking news; think back to Chile in '73, Nicaragua in the '80s, or even Iraq in '03. The pattern of destabilization, sanctions, and proxy support for opposition figures is less a sophisticated strategy and more a historical rerun, often pre-scripted by think
tanks with revolving doors to government and defense contractor funding. One might wonder if these 'scripts' fail for everyone, or just for the target nations' populations. For the military industrial complex, and the politicians who fund it, they appear to be wildly successful at maintaining budgets and political leverage. How many more 'failed scripts' will be purchased before we admit the
problem isn't the script, but the director?
