Park Rangers Fired While Billions Fund Foreign Wars
While hundreds of dedicated Park Service staff face핑크 slips, the Biden administration continues to shepherd billions in military aid overseas. In 2023 alone, the U.S. committed $99.73 billion in aid to Ukraine and Israel—a sum that could, perhaps, keep a few park rangers employed. Apparently, maintaining America’s natural treasures isn't as pressing as ensuring foreign governments have the latest
armaments. One might wonder if the White House considered reallocating even a fraction of the $14.2 billion additional aid package to Israel (HR 815), which easily passed Congress, before cutting the very people who protect our public lands. How many park rangers could be funded with the cost of one F-35? (Roughly $80 million per jet, in case you were doing the math.) Priorities, indeed.
