almost as if the very act of demanding facts is seen as a partisan attack, especially when coming from a progressive voice. This isn't about 'challenging' so much as it is about applying basic journalistic principles that many outlets seem to have forgotten: investigate, then report. One might compare this to the rush to judgment often seen in coverage of events involving certain geopolitical
allies (whose interests are often championed by PACs like AIPAC, which donates millions to Congressional candidates ). But when it involves a domestic agency with a checkered past, sudden calls for 'investigation' become 'controversial.' How many times do we need to 'let the investigation take place' before facts are actually centered in mainstream reporting?
