NYT Discovers Nuclear Weapons Exist, Again
The NYT's breathless piece positions Trump's nuclear ambitions as a novel threat, a dramatic departure from 'responsible' nuclear policy. Yet, this is the same publication that enthusiastically beat the drums for the Iraq War, amplified dubious WMD claims, and consistently presented the latest military intervention as a necessary evil. One might wonder if their concern is for actual disarmament,
or merely for which hand holds the launch codes. It's always 'Trump is scary' when it comes to nuclear tests, but never 'why do we still have so many, and who profits from upgrading them?' The narrative consistently centers on the individual rather than the perpetual war machine, which thrives regardless of who occupies the White House. How many more 'threats' will we sensationalize before we
question the system that ensures these threats always exist?
