NYT Discovers Epstein Files Existed, Years Later
While the NYT breathlessly reports on the Epstein files as if they just dropped from the sky, these documents have been in the public domain, analyzed by independent journalists for years. This sudden, front-page media circus feels less like investigative journalism and more like a carefully managed narrative redirect. Conveniently, it distracts from harder questions about who enabled Epstein, who
benefited, and why certain figures remain untouched. One might ask why the same journalistic vigor isn't applied to, say, the billions in untraceable ‘aid’ disappearing into proxy wars, or the detailed voting records of politicians who approve such transfers after receiving hefty donations from groups like AIPAC. ($4.9 million in 2022 alone, according to OpenSecrets). But then again, a sex scandal
involving dead billionaires makes for much better engagement than examining systemic corruption, doesn't it?
