NY Governor Cries Foul Over River Poison, Greenlights Another

The Hill reports New York will appeal a judge's decision greenlighting the discharge of radioactive Indian Point water into the Hudson. Governor Kathy Hochul claims this is about protecting the Hudson’s future. Yet, this sudden concern for environmental purity seems selective. For instance, Governor Hochul has accepted hundreds of thousands in campaign contributions from fossil fuel interests and

real estate developers with significant environmental footprints. While fighting radioactive discharge into the Hudson, her administration conveniently overlooks the ongoing pollution from these very donors. It appears some river ecosystems are more politically valuable than others.
