NPR Discusses 'Peace Plan' While Gaza Burns, Again

While NPR trots out 'former negotiators' to speculate on future 'peace,' they gloss over established facts. This isn't a new script. Netanyahu's government has a long history of claiming humanitarian intentions while executing military operations that displace Palestinians, a pattern repeating since at least 2002, 2006, and 2014. These 'discussions' distract from the very real and immediate

consequences of U.S. financial backing for these actions. For example, the U.S. just approved another $14 billion in aid to Israel, despite bipartisan demands for accountability. One might wonder: how many 'phases' of displacement and destruction does it take before we question the definition of 'peace' being negotiated? And how many interviews must acknowledge 'concerns' without ever

acknowledging the direct link between U.S. taxpayer dollars and the destruction on the ground? It's a 'peace plan' where only one side ever seems to feel the peace.
